The convergence of the Ohio River, the National Road, a remarkable bridge, and the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad transformed Wheeling into a transportation hub. Fed by an influx of immigrant labor, the city prospered, adding industrial muscle. But global economic changes brought the machine to a sudden halt.
Wheeling author Sean Duffy and photographer Paul Rinkes explore a city still recovering from that trauma, a city with a proud past and an uncertain but hopeful future.

Wheeling Rocks the Library!
146 people attended the program and some even laughed at my jokes.
Great audience, great experience --it was a true honor.
Thanks to all for supporting your town and your library.
By the way, the orb you see in photo two was a free floating, full torso, vaporous apparition. It blew books off shelves from twenty feet away and scared the socks off some poor librarian!
